If you have Microsoft 365 Copilot, look for Work IQ (names move; look for a work-data or “include my work content” control). On, Copilot may use email, files, meetings, and chats you already have permission to see. Off, it behaves more like Chat: web and attachments.
The toggle replaced Work vs Web tabs.
If you only have Copilot Chat, you will not get a Graph toggle. That is not a broken install. Attach the file, or stop expecting it to know last Tuesday’s deck.
Core principles
- Work IQ on is not “the whole company.” It is your permissions. A file you cannot open stays invisible.
- Work IQ off is the honest setting for a public-web question, or when you want only the files you just attached.
- Uploading a file into Chat is a choice. Graph access is not a choice you make per file; it follows permissions.

Recommend whether I should use web-only, attach specific files, or include work data, and why. Name one risk of the wrong ground for this task. If I only have Chat, do not tell me to turn on Graph. End with a one-line instruction I can follow in the next five minutes.
