Read It as Your Manager Would

Before you automate, calibrate. Read the draft as your manager: do they get decisions they need? Is risk visible? Is fluff gone?

Lesson 2

Format is a relationship skill.

New CFO, shorter updates, hates vague language — boss context belongs in the agent later; you notice the gaps here first.

Core principles

  1. Ask: Would my manager actually like this?
  2. Ask: What is missing that they always ask about?
  3. Ask: What would I tweak — tone, section order, level of detail?
  4. Lead with decisions needed when your boss said they want that — not buried in activity bullets.
  5. A good chat draft is the spec for your agent instructions.
